Complaints

If you wish to see the Head or a member of staff about a serious matter, it is best to telephone or to talk to the secretary to arrange an appointment so that the matter can be given proper attention. The school will arrange a full discussion with you as soon as possible after your call.

In almost all circumstances complaints can be best dealt with informally but, should the matter not be settled satisfactorily, a procedure has been agreed by the Governors and should be followed. A copy of this may be examined in the school office.

The procedure requires complaints to be addressed to the Headteacher except where she is concerned in the complaint in which case the Chair of Governors should be approached. If the complaint is to be pursued, it should be made in writing and, if informal procedures have been exhausted, a sub-committee of Governors will be convened to look into the matter.

Should the sub-committee's findings be unacceptable to complainant or complainee, an appeal may be made and a new group of three Governors convened.
