Medication in School

The Local Authority has a clear policy on the administration of medicines in School. This reduces the possibility of unnecessary and potentially unpleasant complications. Teachers are not permitted to administer medicines except in very special circumstances. If your child is on a course of medicine it is usually better that he or she be at home but should it be essential, that medication is continued you should contact the school and complete an authorisation form.

If your child suffers from a chronic condition which makes long term medication and special precautions necessary, please contact us so that an agreed treatment regime may be established.
