TERM 6

The children have had a very enjoyable start to term 6. We have been learning about the Queen, designing some 'knickers' for her as part of our story 'The Queen's Knickers' and learning about London. The children made comparisons between London and Old Sodbury by looking at maps and how different they look.

We had a visit from Ollie Kohn who talked to us about his occupation. We learnt a lot about his rugby career and his business 'The Jolly Hog'.

In maths, the children have learnt to use rekenreks. These help them with their maths and we have used them for more than, less than, the same as.....

The children have also used them for number bonds to 5 and 10.

Den building day

Today we built our own dens for ourselves and our teddies. It was in aid of Childcare Primary school in Uganda to raise money for new toilets for them.

TERM 5

This term, the children have been learning about doubling and number bonds to 10. They have been gardening; learning about weeding and then planting new plants. They have planted carrots and beetroot and are waiting to see what happens to them.

TERM 4

In term 4, the children in Hazel class had lots of fun. They have been busy painting daffodils and tulips using different media and materials. The children enjoyed working on their fine motor skills by making necklaces and the children have been writing about different experiences and enjoying making a 'mess' in the mud kitchen. How much fun is it to get covered in mud and make mud pies?!

TERM 3

Look at what Hazel class got up to in term 2.

Making sandwiches to take to our 'picnic' on the moon, a trip to Westonbirt Arboretum, finding out how we get 'day and night'. Lastly, Father Christmas came to visit our class; we sang some songs with him and had a dance!

Overview term 2

Overview term 1-2

Have a look at all the fun things we have been doing in term 1

The children have been having a wonderful first term in school. We have been to the forest to play, to dig, to investigate, to explore. Some children have enjoyed playing with the playdough; using different materials to achieve their planned finished effect. Some children have been enjoying the book corner; just taking the time out to sit and look at a book. In maths, we have been subitising with numbers up to 3; the children enjoyed finding different ways of presenting 3. The children have painted their own self portrait as part of our theme 'Who are we?' Some enjoy puzzles and others building a car with all the large resources in our outdoor area.

TERM 1 Overviews.
